Hit the Beach

Explore the Tide Pools

Check for low tide and head down to the beach. At the right end of the beach you'll find starfish, crabs, mussels, and other marine life.

Watch the Surfers and Kite Surfers

Dillon Beach is a well-known surf spot and you'll often see surfers riding the waves. On windy days, the beach attracts kite surfers too and it is fun to watch them soar through the air.

If you brought your surfboard, be cautious as the area is also known for sharks!

Take a hike

Walk or drive to the top of Oceana Drive and hike through the open space to the private beach at Estero de San Antonio. Please do not bring your dog on this hike, as they must be pre-licensed with the landowners.

Head over to Point Reyes National Park for a day of hiking. Enjoy a short hike to the beach or longer backpacking options. Be sure to pack a lunch and bring water. Dogs are permitted on limited beaches and are required to be leashed.
